We Have Come this Far By Faith
Tulsa, Oklahoma July 6, 2009: The Historic Mount Zion Baptist Church has finalized its 100th anniversary celebration calendar and the public is invited to attend this historic event. The 100th Anniversary theme is “We Have Come This Far By Faith”.
 Friday, August 14, 2009 at 7pm a musical hosted by The Voices of Zion under the direction of Minister of Music Renee Peterson and Artis Worthington which will be a gift of heaven for the public. Gerry A. Thompson and Michael E. Thompson renowned music producers from Florida will be on had to direct and ensure the soul is full of peace and joy. This event is free and open to the public.
On Saturday, August 15th the internationally known motivator and author, Dr. Julia Reed Hare will be the keynote speaker at the 100th Anniversary Banquet at 7pm. Dr. Julia Hare is the National Executive Director of the Black Think Tank and is widely regarded as one of the most dynamic speakers on the major podiums today. The banquet tickets are $25 each and can be purchased from Mount Zion Baptist Church between 1-5pm daily August 1, 2009.
Sunday, August 16th at 10:45am the Reverend A. D. Lewis of the Mount Olive Baptist Church of Meridian, Mississippi will be the guest speaker and the 3:30 pm speaker will be Pastor Emeritus, Dr. G. Calvin McCutchen Sr. with music provided by the renowned contralto Ernestine Dillard. All events will be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 419 N Elgin Avenue, Tulsa.
Dr. Leroy M. Cole is the Senior Pastor of Mount Zion. Dr. Sharlene Johnson and Mary Bailey are 100th Anniversary committee Co Chairs.
